I was so thrilled when our designer suggested an easy and fairly inexpensive solution for our white tile backsplash woes. We had this really nice plain white subway tile already installed when we moved in that I really did not want to have to rip out. However, I also was determined to swap out the old granite for new marble countertops that better embodied the classic French chefs kitchen vibe that I was going for. She suggested popping out some of the tiles behind the range and doing a marble inset to bring out the pattern of the countertops. It was an absolutely brilliant suggestion and definitely revived the backsplash. If you are looking for inexpensive ways to upgrade your kitchen backsplash ideas, definitely consider this hack!
A white tile backsplash is nice, but I much prefer the pattern and elegance that a marble alternative can bring to a kitchen design. Subway tile backsplash ideas have continued to grow in popularity over the past few years, and I was thrilled when people started using marble bricks instead of the plain white tile in these projects. I think that it adds so much more flare to a classic design without taking it over the top. This is a look that will certainly stand the test of time and yo uno not need to worry about it going out of style. I really like it paired with marble countertops or even a soap stone like this homeowner did on their island. Search for marble kitchen backsplash pictures and you will see that the options are absolutely endless and you can bring this trend into traditional or contemporary style homes.
I have seen a lot of white tile backsplash variations on here but this is definitely look unique look that I don't believe I have seen used before. I really like how the kitchen backsplash tile is laid geometrically rather than in a brick pattern because it puts a new twist on your classic large subway tile. It works really when in this contemporary style kitchen but may not be as effective in a more traditional style look. For somebody looking for backsplash ideas for white cabinets, I would probably lay the tile in your more typical subway look so that it has that classic look to it. Unless of course you are trying to be super modern like this homeowner. Either way, I think it is a great minimalist option for those in the market.
I really don't think that you can go wrong with a white tile backsplash no matter what style or color palette you are working with. A lot of my friends who happen to be designers have said that backsplash designs are one of those small oftentimes forgotten details that can actual make a sizable impact on the overall look of the room. I have far more respect for them now and definitely pay attention whenever I walk into somebody's kitchen. If we are talking about my future home, I would say that the design that is in these photos is probably exactly what I would want. White kitchen backsplash ideas are perfect for me because that are not too "in your face" if you will, but you can still play around with pattern and texture like they did here to make it special.
I battled back and forth between a marble brick and white tile backsplash for months before we finally committed to the marble design that you see in these photos. All I have to say is thank goodness that is what we chose, because the backsplash tile ideas are probably my favorite thing in our entire kitchen now! When we began working with our designer, I knew right off that bat that I wanted to keep everything from the floors on up extremely light and airy. That meant lyme washed floors, simple white cabinets, and marble countertops. Definitely no bold colors to be seen here. A gray and white kitchen may seem boring to some, but I love them because it is so easy to infuse them with your own personality through small decorative accents and art that accumulates over the years.
I think that a white tile backsplash was definitely the perfect choice for this kitchen because of those greenish granite countertops. Honestly, I don't know what other type of tile pattern or coloring would blend well with that extremely vibrant granite in a way that would not completely take over the kitchen. Usually I like to pair more colorful kitchen backsplash ideas with white cabinets, but that just doesn't feel right to me in this space. The only other potential thing I would have done is made it a classic subway tile rather than the diagonal laid squares. But these are the little details that make scrolling through these photos and planning out imaginary kitchen makeovers so fun, you know?
