I think that any shade of blue are definitely classic kitchen colors with white cabinets because the combination could easily be worked into modern or traditional style homes (both architecture and decor). I love the personality that blue kitchen cabinets bring to a home, especially if it is an open concept layout that shares real estate with the living and dining room. It is such a fun touch to carry into the kitchen if you do blue accents in the pillows, textiles, or artwork in the other rooms. I think that it is a great way to tie together the whole space and make it feel unified. I don't understand why people are so scared to experiment with kitchen cabinet colors because it is just paint if you ask me.
So many people told me to do very neutral kitchen colors with white cabinets especially because we did this moss green island, but I have to admit that I am regretting my decision now. I wish that we had done a deeper color on the walls so that it would contrast with the kitchen cabinets more to make it a little bit more interesting. Right now the kitchen definitely look really good and overall I am very happy with it, I just want to see more color I suppose. In our last house we had the typical gray and white kitchen that you see in all of the magazines lately and, while I did love it, this time around I wanted to do something more colorful. I think that a softer shade of the island color would be a perfect way to give the room more vibrancy and pizazz, don't you?
At first I thought that doing neutral kitchen colors with white cabinets would make the room look too plain, but I actually really like how it all turned out. Grey and white seem to be some of the most popular kitchen colors right now so it seemed like a safe choice for somebody who really did not know where they wanted to go with the style of their home. I am definitely no designer and I really don't keep up with home decor trends, so I just kind of went with what I personally thought looked good and that also seemed neutral enough that it wouldn't turn off potential buyers if we decided to sell sometime on the future. I did go slightly out on a limb by opting for grey cabinet paint colors as opposed to a more classic white, but I still felt that it was neutral enough that it wouldn't matter.
I am sure that a lot of people on here may consider me terribly boring but I think that neutral tones are the best kitchen colors with white cabinets. There is a lot going on in any kitchen because of the sheer number of appliances, materials, and fixtures involved. Rather than competing with all of that, I prefer to keep the kitchen cabinet paint colors very simple (aka white) and carry that same concept over to the walls. I usually won't do white cabinets and white walls because there is no contrast. But white against a soft beige or grey is the perfect combo. If you do want to bring in some color or pattern, consider doing it via kitchen backsplash ideas with white cabinets. Backsplashes can be swapped out fairly easily if you get tired of them, and it is a smallish area that won't overwhelm the space if you add color.
The right kitchen colors with white cabinets has been a hot topic of debate amongst my family members because several of us have moved into homes with various styles of white cabinets recently. I think that kitchen paint colors should be neutral but still have enough contrast agains the cabinets to make them "pop" a little bit. This grayish kitchen is basically exactly what I am talking about. I like that the wall color doesn't overwhelm the space, but still contrasts nicely against the white. My sister, on the other hand, thinks that you should do white walls so that everything looks clean. I feel like that would make everything room blend together with no real design. I love white kitchen ideas but there still needs to be color laced throughout, you know?
I took me so long to figure out the perfect kitchen colors with white cabinets like this because it is not the true crisp white color that you see in most homes. If you have a nice stark white, pretty much any and all kitchen wall colors that you could dream of would look good against them. But in here we have both off white units as well as a large brownish maroon island to contend with. The one thing that I did know though, is that I did not want to do a traditional neutral like beige or grey. In my opinion those are so overdone and I wanted to go with one of the more vibrant shades that I have seen trending in kitchen paint colors 2022. Ultimately we settled on this soft mossy green color because we thought it went with the earthy tones of the stone accent wall as well as the brown of the island. What do you think?
