I am trying to get my wife on board with this backyard design that incorporates both a beautiful pool as well as a luxurious spa. Even though we really need to concentrate on small backyard ideas more, I think it would be an awesome upgrade to incorporate some sort of water feature like this -- both as far as our quality of life as well as the value of our home. I am not thinking anything huge necessarily, we could even do one of those really narrow single lanes pools. Just something that we could float around in during our hot Southern summers. We already have covered backyard patio designs like this, I would just want to extend the space to incorporate a patio paver deck like this that surrounds a bright blue inground pool.
I am trying to decide if this backyard design would be too much for our fairly small yard. We have a flagstone patio already but I would love to add a small pool and some of those gorgeous tall trees to upgrade the backyard landscape design to something that our friends and family would be jealous of. Everything that I have read suggests that you pay close attention to scale when you are working within the confines of a smaller property. I am sure that I could come up with backyard design ideas with pool features that would be able to fit in our space. Even if I couldn't do an awesome delicately curved design like they have here, I may be able to install a single lap lane or something like that.
I am so happy that I found this graded backyard design because I have had so much trouble trying to figure out what to do with our super slopped backyard. Pretty much all of the backyard landscape design ideas that I have seen on here feature perfectly flat yards, very few with a challenging layout like ours. I wasn't sure how to handle the large hill in our backyard without making it look like a weird cliff, but I think that add rock retaining walls is a great way to make the space more usable while still tying in well with the stone exterior of our home. This is why looking at pictures of landscaping ideas is just so valuable -- you discover different ways that you can handle your own house as well as inspiration for unique looks that you may have never thought of before.
This backyard design is absolutely to die for -- between the gorgeous indigo pool and neighboring spa to the spacious flagstone patio, it certainly has it all! I found this home while I was looking around for backyard pool designs that are more elegant and upscale than your average bright aqua concrete design. Above all, I want our new pool to enhance the overall appearance of our backyard rather than take away from it. We actually have a similar stone exterior on our home, so I think that mimicking this design but adding a bit more backyard landscaping like some classic boxwood hedges or something, would be the perfect look for our property. If it turns out as well as I think it will, I will post some photos for you all!
This backyard design is absolutely epic and one that I would love to try to mimic in our outdoor entertaining areas. After studying the photos, I do realize that there is not much in the way of landscaping, the draw of the design is that backyard decor and bright colors that they used throughout the space. Starting with a base of bright green well-maintained lawn in the first step, then we would need to build out these mulched patio areas framed by a rock border. Luckily, this is not that costly of a project, so we could focus our budget on getting the awesome patio furniture that they incorporated. I love how their backyard ideas focused on the pops of red brought in through the rocking chairs, umbrellas and loungers.
I love taking on backyard design projects because it is so fun to create areas that you know are made purely for entertainment. Sure there has to be a level of functionality to the designs but, overall, the goal of these plans is to create a beautiful and entertaining space to get homeowners outside with friends and family making memories. The backyard in these landscape design pictures is a great example of how you can use fantastic style to bring about these entertaining spaces. The gorgeous deep aqua tiling on the pool and spa really set of the design, and this palette is reflected in the textiles on the loungers as well as the seating and dining area. Beyond these details, the pool landscaping creates privacy and also adds a lovely natural green element to an otherwise concrete heavy space.
