I am really intrigued by modern pool designs like this because they offer a much more chic and stylish way to still enjoy a water feature, but without it being garish. So many examples of "high end" swimming pool design that I have seen simply feel flat for me and were certainly not something that I would want to replicate in my own home. This one, however, has a distinct style and panache unlike anything that I have come across in my research. I think that the key to this modern pool design is the fact that the tiled wall behind it, and the surrounding pool deck all have a distinctly contemporary vibe to it. These elements make it feel more artistic and industrial, rather than middle America.
I always like to emphasize how much modern pool designs like this truly add value to your home both from an economic perspective as well as a quality of life perspective. Admittedly, so many pool designs that you see are just very "blah" and can take away from the pretty landscaping of a backyard. We knew that if we were going to install an inground pool, we wanted it to enhance our backyard design rather than take away from it. This is how we came up with this cool (and fun) contemporary look complete with multi-level decks, waterfalls, and shallow lounging pad. As you can see from the pool pictures, giving height and dimension to the pool through tiled retaining walls made the entire space very decorative and allowed us to plant greenery all along the edges so that it would feel more a part of the backyard.
Modern pool designs like this awesome desert oasis really make a backyard special in my opinion. Overall I am simply not a huge fan of inground pool designs, merely because I think that a lot of times they can really cheapen the look of a space (despite the fact that they certainly do bring monetary value to a property). However, if you install one with a sleek curved design like this or a more natural-looking deep blue liner like they chose, I actually think that they can elevate the look of your outdoor entertaining areas. The key to achieving one of these high end designs is definitely pairing your upscale modern pool ideas with a really high quality patio or deck. This flagstone that they chose was the perfect elegant yet function option to contrast against the murky blue coloring of the pool.
Modern pool designs like this are such a fantastic addition to a backyard patio or outdoor entertaining area because they essentially become a piece of art in themselves. As you can see, this is actually a very simple single lap lane design done all in cement on the lower end of your typical inground pool cost, but the colored LED lighting and patio decor really amps up the style into something really special. I always tell our clients that it is important to consider the style of the entire area when you are planning out your pool design because it is more than just that single unit. You need to incorporate any new pool ideas 2022 that you decided on alongside all of your existing architecture and patios -- this is an art, and one that makes your property so extraordinary if you do it right.
I can't decide if I want to do one of those ultra modern pool designs or more of a resort style like this. To me "resort style" means some sort of rocky feature that houses a waterfall, fountain etc. I like those swimming pool ideas (like they used in these photos) because they really embody the spirit of a fun summer and makes you feel like you are on vacation every time you step outside. On the other hand, I also love how more modern pool designs make your property look ultra chic and "finished," and I would imagine that they improve the value of your home a bit more (at least from a buyers perspective). I wish I could take a poll on here of which type of backyard pool designs you like best and what you think works best for resale later.
I'm pretty sure that this home puts all other modern pool designs to shame, not only with the perfect layout and style of the space, but also that amazing view! I love infinity style inground swimming pools especially if they are installed on a property that has an epic view like this. It transforms a simple backyard pool into a stunning piece of artwork and design. As if the pool itself was not enough, the surrounding deck, hot tub and lounge area are pretty much to die for as well. I was particularly struck by these pool images because the Azur color of the liner perfectly matches the sky and contrasts so nicely against the terra cotta stone that they chose for the deck. In fact, I don't think that there is a single thing that I would change about this space.
