We have been looking around at inground swimming pools for some time now, trying to figure out the size and shape that would work best for our yard. We have a pretty large property with a sizable area that we plan to dedicate to the pool and associated deck. We tossed around the idea of saving some cash by installing a diy inground pool on our own, but after reading up on the plans and looking at the before and after pictures, I just wasn't convinced that the look was what we were going for (even though the price was very attractive). Plus, to be honest, don't think the question should be how much does it cost to install an inground pool but, rather, how much is it going to cost to maintain it. The investment seems well worth it to me as long as the yearly costs do not overwhelm us.
After spending years looking at all kinds of inground swimming pools and then even more months planning out our own design, I am just so pleased to be able to post pictures of the finished yard. It is hard to believe that after looking at so many pictures of inground pools in other peoples yards, that I am not able to take some photos of ours. As you can see, we really wanted to play up the tropical nature of our area and make it feel like you were in one of those resort pools rather than our backyard. To do this, we chose a curved fiberglass design with a nice cement deck surrounding the entire pool. One thing that we worked really hard on was picking out swimming pool landscaping that really enhanced the design rather than distracting from it. I just love how it turned out and can't wait to spend so many more seasons enjoying it.
I came on here looking for designs that incorporate inground swimming pools in a unique way, and boy did this website deliver! Unfortunately, the only problem with these gorgeous photos is that my favorite swimming pool design of the bunch is probably astronomically expensive and not something I could ever achieve on our measly budget. Does anybody know what it would cost to install something even remotely like this? We don't need the huge pool and hot tub combo, maybe just a tiled pool with a light color cement deck to match our stucco home. I would love to plant palm trees in the pool deck like they did but I am not quite sure how to go about that. I think that the best inground pool designs incorporate the natural element so that the area doesn't look so stark, but if it is too expensive, I guess we can skip that part.
It took me a couple of minutes to realize that this large body of water was not a lake but, in fact, just a set of inground swimming pools designed to mimic the lake behind the house. Whoever came up with this design is absolutely brilliant and deserves an award of some sort because the design is just so impressive. It goes to show the unique shapes and layouts you can achieve with versatile fiberglass inground pools as opposed to your typical cement varieties. From both inside and outside of the home, it looks like their backyard is an extension of the natural bodies of water beyond their property. It goes without saying that, as far as inground pool prices go, this was certainly not a cheap one, but I almost think that it is worth the money just for the unforgettable design.
Inground swimming pools can be a ton of maintenance, but they are also a huge blessing to have in your home. They encourage fellowship among friends and family because they provide a central location to spend time and make memories away from technology and other distractions. You don't need to have a giant yard or large budget for something like this, even small inground pools like this will certainly do the trick and meet those needs. The home in these photos is actually our neighbors, and I snapped these pics the other day when we were enjoying an after dinner coffee on their porch following bible study. I asked him how much does it cost to put in a pool thinking that the number would be astronomical, but I was surprised to hear that it was surprisingly affordable if you plan it our correctly.
Admittedly, inground swimming pools were not really high on my list of "wants" until we moved into our new house that has a pretty large one in the backyard. Now I absolutely love the thing, despite the pretty high inground pool cost to maintain. The kids play in it all the time and I have been known to float in my lounger with an "adult beverage" every now and again haha. As you can see from the photos, while the pool and deck themselves are actually quite nice and look to be high end, I feel like the surrounding landscaping is quite lacking. I think that we have the opportunity to make our underground pool area look really cool if we devote some time and money into planning out some landscaping. Does anybody have suggestions for some pretty easy and not super expensive things we could do here as a DIY project?
