If you would have told me that I would basically plan out my entire new house with some home design software free download that I found on the internet, I would have definitely told you that you were crazy. I know that you can find some amazing things on the internet these days, but a full on interior design software suite that helps you to plan everything from the ground up seemed a little too good to be true (even for me). Well let me tell you that it does exist and it is awesome! I can't believe that I was able to plan everything out down to the type of stone that I wanted for my outdoor fireplace, and then I could actually "walk" through the space to see how everything turned out. Whether you use a simple floor plan software or a full design suite like I did, I definitely think that you will be surprised at how helpful it is.
I just can't believe that my husband and I essentially planned out our entire house complete with blueprints just using a random home design software free download that I found online. I have played around with design for years and years now (especially in our homes) and have even used a couple of room design software programs in the past to help me decorate a kitchen or bathroom. This was a whole new ballgame though and required something far more substantial than what I used in the past. With the program I found, you can do everything from build out the kitchen to plan your patio landscaping. Even better, ours came with free floor plan software so that we could even render this drawing for contractors.
Isn't this drawing so cute! I actually "built" this house used home design software free from some random DIY building site that I found online. I have been stuck at home with not a lot to do lately (I'm sure most of you can feel my pain) so I have taken up some new hobbies. I have always wanted to be a designer or even build homes one day, so I figured why not play around with some house design software just to pass the time. This program was fairly easy to use and, as you can see, you can get super detailed with everything from your siding options, to the light fixtures, and even the landscaping. Some of the programs that I saw allow you to even do a virtual walk through of the place, but you need 3d home design software for that (which cost a little bit more).
Am I the last person on earth to realize that you can actually download home design software free that allows you to full on build your dream house (virtually of course)? I mean we are talking planning the whole thing out from the ground up down to the type of drive way you want -- incredible! I downloaded this home remodeling software on a whim thinking that I could play around with some designs to figure out what we may want to do when we buy land next year. Well down the rabbit hole I went, and before I knew it I had this entire compound drawn out and ready to go! After doing this I realized that it might be nice to be able to actually walk through the place. I will say that I have read that the best home design software does offer virtual 3d walkthroughs but I have a feeling that costs extra.
I can't believe what you can do with home design software free these days -- I mean I "built" this entire thing in about 3 hours on a Saturday. I guess that I always pictured building design software to be super hard to figure out, especially if you have no design or contracting background (I have neither). I was very pleased to find out that it was basically just a click and go type situation and you could experiment with different finishes and materials until you found exactly what you wanted. This key is so important if you are not quite sure what you want in your home design because it allows you to play around with different options before committing or spending the money. Definitely gets a 5 out of 5 from me.
A lot of people told me to check out home design software free downloads when I was in the process of planning out our new build (with the help of contractors). I figured that it would be a waste of my time since I assumed the companies that I was working with obviously had access to home design software and would use it for me. Boy was I wrong! Well about me not needing it not about them having access to it haha. It made our planning conversations so much easier because I was able to pull up the fairly amateur design that I had come up with on my own, and then they could enhance things with their own team. Whether you are taking on a new home (or any type of renovation project) on your own or working with a team of professionals, I see no reason that you should not download free house design software to help get things going.
